folie

folie is a spatial composition that works with sonic contrasts. Through the material contact between mouth and cling film, breathing and vocal sounds are filtered in a specific way, creating a fragile acoustic field. In the depth of the room stands a performer with a large wooden rattle, which is at first only quietly swung and later turned with force. With tremendous noise he moves forward and breaks an acoustic aisle through the field of the four seated performers. Silently, the faces in the group deform, tilt back a little, and finally produce individual fluttering noises, as if they were gasping for air.

folie [French for craziness] is "danger music". Reduced gestures and sounds create a threatening, off-balance climate and describe the vulnerability of a delicate organism.
