premiere: 18. June 2021 in the context of "A or B", Maulwerker and guests, Ballhaus Ost, Berlin

The graphic score of platophonics goes back to studies by René Decartes from the 17th century, who visualised the amazing connections between eye and brain in his drawings. Lines are drawn on four round discs, which are acoustically spatialised by four loudspeakers. The lines move, as it were, from the surface into the room and are moved live electronically via the sound control. Connections of eye and ear are stimulated and allow finely varied pitches to be heard in the noise of the drawn loops. The sounds emerge from an interplay of material, fingernails and special pen microphones. The piece has a meditative character.
